Join in on one of Adelaide’s most iconic running events – the 41st Adelaide Marathon

From 7am

The Adelaide Marathon will be the first large State Marathon on the Australian Calendar for 2019 and will take on some further course improvements from the 2018 edition. The event will start and finish at Adelaide Oval.

The Adelaide Marathon has attracted over 30,000 entrants since the inaugural year and we can’t wait to share the journey with you in 2019!

Distances include the Full, Half, 10km, 5km and Kids Fun Run with all distances receiving Finishers Medals.

  • Toilets are located inside the venue Riverbank Stand’s (South/East and South/West block) will be available for spectators and competitors.
  • Koffee Ink Café will open from 6.30am.

North Car Park

  • Regular Wilson Parking Rates or $8 Book-a-Bay special for participants – open from 4:30am

East Car Park

  • Regular Wilson Parking Rates or $8 Book-a-Bay special for participants – open from 4:30am

road closures

  • Pennington Terrace – Full Closure (8:00am – 2:00pm) from King William Road to Palmer Place
  • War Memorial Drive – Full Closure (4:00am – 2:00pm) from King William Road to Montefiore Rd
  • War Memorial Drive – Full Closure (4:00am – 2:00pm) from Montefiore Rd to Park Terrace.
  • Montefiore Road – Full Closure (5:00am – 2:00pm) from North Tce to Montefiore Hill.

Frequently Asked Questions

Adelaide Oval is located 400 metres from the CBD and just a few minutes’ walk from public transport networks (train, bus and tram). Patrons are strongly encouraged to use public transport when attending events at Adelaide Oval.

Train
The Adelaide Railway Station is located on North Terrace, approximatley a five-minute walk across the Riverbank footbridge or via King William Street. For timetables and more information visit the Adelaide Metro website.

Tram
Trams operate between Glenelg and the city with stops located on North Terrace and King William Road (outside the Adelaide Festival Centre). For timetables and more information please visit the Adelaide Metro website.

Bus
Bus services run throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area and service several bus stops in the vicinity of Adelaide Oval. Refer to the Adelaide Metro website for details.

Taxi
On major event days taxi ranks and drop-off zones are located on Pennington Terrace and King William Road.

For most major events at Adelaide Oval patrons can take advantage of the Adelaide Oval Express Services across train, tram and bus routes. Travel is free upon presentation of a valid event ticket.
