The National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant is coming!
The 88th National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant will be a twilight event at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 14 November, allowing a COVID-safe crowd to attend the treasured event.
- Saturday, 14 November 2020
- 5:00pm: Gates open (South and East Gate only, North Gate closed)
- 5:15pm: Pre-show
- 6:30pm: Welcome to Country, Premier and Emergency Services Tribute
- 7:00pm: Pageant Commences

The National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant will be broadcast exclusively and LIVE in South Australia on Channel Nine and live-streamed on 9Now for those interstate.
Your ticket to the event is also your ticket to FREE travel on dedicated Express bus, train and tram services.

Please note: The Gawler rail line will be closed between Adelaide Railway Station and Salisbury Interchange. Additional substitute bus services (PDF 201KB) will operate before and after the event, with the Adelaide Oval Express AOX15 also available from the Elizabeth City Centre Interchange and the AO15 from Mawson Interchange.
The Adelaide Railway Station northern entrance will be open from 4:00pm – 11:00pm.
Car Parks: Open 4:00pm
Very limited casual parking will be available due to the large set up area required for the pageant ($20 payable by card on entry).
- North Car Park – Access via Pennington Terrace
Very limited casual disabled parking will be available in the following location, subject to availability ($20 payable by card on entry).
- East Car Park – Access via King William Road
The following road closures will be in place for this event:
War Memorial Drive: 3:00pm – 10:30pm
King William Road: 8:30pm – 10:30pm
Pennington Terrace: 10:00pm – 10:30pm
North Terrace: 8:45pm – 10:30pm Victoria Street to King William Road
PAGEANT AT THE OVAL
Lost Child/Person Procedure at Adelaide Oval
We are encouraging everyone attending the Pageant to take a photo of their child/vulnerable person and retain this on their mobile when at the Oval.
There will be wristbands available at turnstiles and at merchandising booths for parents/guardians/carers to write on and put on the wrist of of their child/person they are responsible for. Please bring a permanent marker with you so you can write your information on the wristband.
Should you and your child/vulnerable person become separated, please immediately alert a member of staff, security or police.
Additional Family Facilities
There will be additional family and changing facilities available for the Pageant. Please ask Adelaide Oval event staff (wearing blue or white) on the night to be directed to the nearest facility.
Family Friendly Food & Drinks
There will be family friendly food and beverage options available at retail outlets and kiosks throughout the stadium. Fairy floss, popcorn, icecream, chocolate, fruit box and toffee apples will also be available at pop-up outlets in the South Level 1 & 5, and West Level 1.

Adelaide Oval has collaborated with SA Health and SAPOL to put in place measures to ensure events are as safe as possible.
To a certain degree, these measures will only work if everyone plays their part in keeping Adelaide Oval COVIDSafe.
Frequently Asked Questions
Adelaide Oval is located 400 metres from the CBD and just a few minutes’ walk from public transport networks (train, bus and tram). Patrons are strongly encouraged to use public transport when attending events at Adelaide Oval.
The Adelaide Railway Station is located on North Terrace, approximatley a five-minute walk across the Riverbank footbridge or via King William Street. For timetables and more information visit the Adelaide Metro website.
Trams operate between Glenelg and the city with stops located on North Terrace and King William Road (outside the Adelaide Festival Centre). For timetables and more information please visit the Adelaide Metro website.
Bus services run throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area and service several bus stops in the vicinity of Adelaide Oval. Refer to the Adelaide Metro website for details.
On major event days taxi ranks and drop-off zones are located on Pennington Terrace and King William Road.
Adelaide Oval Express Services
For most major events at Adelaide Oval patrons can take advantage of the Adelaide Oval Express Services across train, tram and bus routes. Travel is free upon presentation of a valid event ticket.

Adelaide Oval food and beverage outlets now accept payment by card only. This assists with speed of service and also reflects the strong consumer trend towards increased use of ‘tap and go’ payment facilities.
All credit, debit and EFTPOS cards are accepted and all are exempt of surcharges. Patrons attending Adelaide Oval with cash only will be able to exchange it for a complimentary ‘Cash Card’ via Cash to Card Exchange booths located around the stadium.
Any un-used ‘Cash Card’ credit can be used at future events or redeemed in full at any time.
