Can I park at Adelaide Oval?

Taking public transport to and from the stadium is strongly encouraged for those attending events at Adelaide Oval as this will be the easiest way to enjoy a day out at the venue.

There are thousands of existing city-centre car parks and car park areas within the immediate parkland precinct that are available on event days.  Please refer to the following websites for information on additional car parking options: U Park and Wilson Parking

How do I get to Adelaide Oval?

Adelaide Oval is located 400m from the CBD and a few minutes walk from public transport networks (train, bus and tram).


The Adelaide Railway Station is located on North Terrace, approximately a five-minute walk across the Riverbank Bridge or via King William Street. For timetables and more information visit the Adelaide Metro website.


Bus services run throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area and service several bus stops in the vicinity of Adelaide Oval. Refer to the Adelaide Metro website for details.


Trams operate between Glenelg and the city with stops located on North Terrace, approximately a five-minute walk across the Riverbank Bridge or via King William Street. For timetables and more information please visit the Adelaide Metro website.


On match days taxi ranks and drop-off zones will be located on Pennington Terrace and War Memorial Drive.


Can I bring my own food and drink to Adelaide Oval?

Patrons are allowed to bring small quantities of food for personal use only. As per the Adelaide Oval Terms and Conditions, visitors are not allowed to bring in eskies of any size or type (including foam eskies), cans, tins, metal containers, glass bottles, glass containers or alcoholic drinks.

Please note that there is no self-catering in corporate facilities.

What catering facilities are available on event days?

Stadium concessions and kiosks, serving everything from popular stadium fare through to specialty, gourmet and healthier food choices, are located within 40m of all seats.

If you hold a membership, please check with your member provider about the range of members’ bars and dining options available to you through your membership. 

Will the bars be open throughout the event?

Adelaide Oval has a range of bars that open for events offering a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase. Adelaide Oval reserves the right to open or close bars and kiosks at Adelaide Oval at any time.   

Adelaide Oval encourages the safe, sensible and responsible consumption of alcohol by patrons.

Patrons are reminded when entering Adelaide Oval that:

  •  it is an offence for a minor to purchase and/or consume liquor;
  • it is an offence to purchase liquor for, or supply liquor to, a minor; and
  • a person supplying liquor to a minor will be reported to police and penalties apply under the Liquor Licensing Act 1997 (SA).

Please note 24-hour closed circuit television surveillance operates throughout Adelaide Oval.

Can I book into a restaurant?

Adelaide Oval has a range of dining options available for members at Adelaide Oval.  Please check with your member provider about what restaurants are available to you prior to an event.

Accessibility Information

How many seats are there for visitors with disability at Adelaide Oval?

Adelaide Oval has 275 places for wheelchair users and 119 Easy Access seats that provide extra space suitable for those who use mobility aids, who require extra space and for those accompanied by assistance dogs.

These flexible seating options for personal assistants, companions or guests are located throughout the stadium.

All main entries to the stadium (South, East, North and West) are accessible for wheelchair users, semi-ambulant visitors and those accompanied by assistance dogs. Ramps are and lifts are used extensively around and throughout Adelaide Oval to provide safe access for wheelchair or mobility impaired visitors. Ramps are located near all stairs and lifts are located near all escalators.

Can visitors with disability park at Adelaide Oval on event days?

A number of options are available for accessible parking on event days – please contact reception on 08 8211 1100 for more information.

This year, the Adelaide Oval SMA is also running courtesy golf carts for those patrons needing assistance in entering the ground from the designated drop-off zone on Pennington Terrace. There will be another designated drop-off zone on War Memorial Drive.

What is the easiest way to get to Adelaide Oval?

How many access toilets are there at Adelaide Oval?

Adelaide Oval has 41 unisex accessible toilets with accessible toilets available on all levels. There are also 77 cubicles within male or female toilets that have extra space with the door opening outwards – suitable for those that use a walking frame or other mobility aids.

What facilities does the stadium have for disabled supporters?

Adelaide Oval offers the following services:

What are the ticket prices for visitors with disability?

Ticket prices and concession policies will be set by the venue hirer and may vary from event to event.

Are there dedicated staff on accessible bays?

Adelaide Oval staff members will receive training in disability awareness. Staff at accessible seating bays will be more than happy to assist with anything required.

Can I bring my assistance animal?

Assistance animals are welcome at Adelaide Oval (identifiable with an official identification pass, medallion, coat or other recognised form of identification).  There are 119 Easy Access seats throughout the Oval designed to be able to accommodate assistance dogs.

How do I purchase tickets?

Please refer to the What’s On section to purchase tickets.  Ticket prices for events at Adelaide Oval are set by the event organiser. Further details can be confirmed with the authorised ticketing agent.

Can I arrange a personal announcement?

Event day activity is organised by the relevant event owner including all announcements and scoreboard content. The South Australian Cricket Association or the Adelaide and Port Adelaide football clubs should be your first point of contact regarding this enquiry.

Is the consumption of alcohol permitted at Adelaide Oval?

Depending on the event, there are different alcohol consumption policies in place in regards to the consumption of alcohol during events. Please ensure you check your event details carefully. 

Does Adelaide Oval show other matches on stadium screens during the event?

Event day activity is organised by the relevant event owner including the showing of other matches during an event. The South Australian Cricket Association or the Adelaide and Port Adelaide football clubs should be your first point of contact regarding this enquiry.

Can I move to a different location?

General Admission ticket holders have access to the Southern and Eastern stands as well as the Northern Mound.  Access to the Western Stand is reserved for members.

Members who have access to the members’ enclosure in the Western Stand are permitted entry to General Admission areas.

Are there any items that I may not bring into the stadium?

What is the Adelaide Oval tour?

The redeveloped Adelaide Oval offers a unique blend of new and old, carefully integrating the latest in stadium design with famous features such as the heritage scoreboard, century-old Moreton Bay Fig trees, the grassed northern mound and more. These elements form an embedded museum, with integrated points of interest and historical features bringing the whole stadium to life.

The Adelaide Oval Tour takes you behind the scenes of the inner workings of this iconic ground. You will be guided through the stadium by our expert volunteer guides whose passion for the Oval is infectious and their stories captivating.

On arrival to the stadium, please see the Stadium Concierge in the foyer of the Riverbank Stand (access via South Gate off War Memorial Drive) for payment and ticket collection.

Please note: guided tours cover a reasonable distance on foot and may include the use of stairs, escalators and elevators. Comfortable, closed in footwear is required. All bookings are subject to availability. Tour times and/or dates may be changed on short notice..

Am I able to turn up for a tour without booking in advance?

Bookings are essential to avoid disappointment. Please visit the Adelaide Oval Tours section of the website for more information.

What days and times are the Adelaide Oval tours and how much are they?

Standard tours operate Monday to Friday at 10am,11am and 2pm and Saturday and Sunday at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm.

Pricing for tours are Adults $25, Concession $20, Child (5-15years) $15.

SANFL (Adelaide Oval Football Members) and SACA (South Australian Cricket Association) Members are admitted to standard tours free of charge on presentation of your membership card.  Bookings are required.

Do you take group bookings?

Group bookings are available by appointment, please contact us on 08 8211 1159 for more information.

Price: $20 per person with a guide (10 people minimum)

Group bookings can be made at a time mutually agreed upon, outside of the standard tour times. Weekend group tours are on application only and are subject to guide availability – where possible, tours to be kept to weekdays between 9.30am and 4pm.

Group booking requests should be made a minimum of four weeks in advance and are subject to time and guide availability. Group tours are not available on event days.

Are there catering options available for Group Bookings?

Catering for tour groups is made on a case by case basis. Group catering is treated as a function at the stadium in conjunction with a tour. Room hire and standard menu pricing applies. 

Are there any options for Corporate Tours?

Corporate Tours are customised based on the needs, interests and number of patrons and can be negotiated based on these and other elements. For further information please call 08 8211 1159. 

Tours can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 60 minutes in length.

Tours are subject to availability of guides and stadium access.

Corporate tours are priced at $19 per person and can be run for up to 300 guests (depending on guide availability).

The exact route of the tour is subject to the availability of the areas and the dress of the attendees at the event.

What age is the tour suitable for?

The Adelaide Oval Tour is suitable for all ages. 

Where do the Adelaide Oval Tours start from?

The Adelaide Oval Tours start from the Visitor’s Centre located in the foyer of the Riverbank Stand.  

What payment cards do you accept?

We accept all credit cards – Mastercard, Visa, Amex and Diners. Please note, a 1.5% surcharge applies to Mastercard and Visa transactions and a 3% surcharge applies to Diners and Amex transactions.

The Builder

Baulderstone Pty Ltd was awarded the construction contract to redevelop Adelaide Oval in October 2011.

Baulderstone is one of the largest building and engineering companies in Australia and brings to the project extensive experience gained building Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium. At its peak Baulderstone had more than 800 people working on the redevelopment of Adelaide Oval.

Riverbank Bridge

Following the completion of the Riverbank master plan, the State Government appointed a consortium led by engineering firm Aurecon and comprising designers Taylor Cullity Lethlean and architects Tonkin Zulaihka Greer to design the footbridge across the River Torrens.

The Riverbank Bridge launches directly from the west of the Dunstan Playhouse at the level of the Adelaide Railway Station concourse. The northern landing point creates an extended plaza area linked on event days to the redeveloped southern entrance of the Adelaide Oval via the closure of War Memorial Drive.

Stadium Capacity

The Adelaide Oval incorporates a seating capacity of 50,000. The new Riverbank and Eastern stands seat about 14,000 and 19,000 respectively while there are also 3000 seats in front of the northern mound.

Oval Heritage

Protecting the heritage and beauty of Adelaide Oval was paramount to the redevelopment project.

The revamped northern mound now boasts 2100 square metres of grass, complemented by almost 900 square metres of timber decking which winds its way through the Moreton Bay fig trees to create a unique viewing platform. And, the area is of course highlighted by the famous heritage scoreboard.

The redevelopment is also considerate of the views that have long been a part of coming to the Adelaide Oval and several carefully designed gaps in the architecture in the north and east will ensure the oval remains carefully integrated into the surrounding parklands.

Environment & Parklands

A comprehensive Construction Environmental Management Plan was a key element of the Adelaide Oval redevelopment. It ensured construction activities did not adversely impact upon the environment, indigenous and non-indigenous heritage, local and neighbouring communities and construction workers.

The redevelopment provides the opportunity to revitalise the surrounding parklands through landscaping, improvements to footpaths, new park furniture and works to improve drainage and turf management.

The State Government is working closely with the Adelaide City Council to develop a comprehensive landscaping plan. A Sustainability Management Plan is also in place to ensure the facility maximises the use of renewable and recyclable resources while minimising energy and water use as well as waste generation.


My personal situation has changed since I purchased my tickets. Can my tickets be changed?

As a condition of sale, there are no refunds, exchanges or cancellations once the booking is complete except in accordance with applicable laws in the region of purchase. 

Where are the Ticket Offices at Adelaide Oval?

Ticket offices are located at all main entry points around the oval, Telstra Plaza, East Gate and the North Gate. 

Can I send someone else to pick my event tickets up for me?

Tickets should be collected by the named card holder who made the original purchase. If this is not possible, please contact to discuss your requirements.

What concessions are there?

Concession entitlements will differ per event, please check each event at Adelaide Oval for valid entitlements.

If you have purchased concession tickets, you will be required to present a valid concession card and photo ID at point of entry into Adelaide Oval. 

How can I find out where my allocated seat is at Adelaide Oval?

Once you have received your event ticket you will know your gate entry, stand level, aisle number and seat number.  Please refer to the venue maps located here.  Alternatively download the new Adelaide Oval app from the Apple store or Google Play – the app provides users ‘find my seat’ functionality.

I have a problem with the tickets I purchased/I have lost my ticket/ I am unable to attend?

How do I purchase tickets for a visitor with access needs?

If you have access requirements such as wheelchair, Easy Access, hearing difficulties or you require companion seating, please contact Ticketek on 1300 665 915.

Why do children need a ticket?

If a seat is being accompanied by a child a ticket will need to be purchased. Depending on the event the child age will differ. Please check the relevant event for child age restrictions.


Is it possible to purchase official event programs and merchandise after the event?

The sale and distribution of official event programs and merchandise is usually determined by the event promoter.  In most cases, programs and merchandise are likely to be available for purchase at the stadium on event day only or via the event website. 

Occasionally, programs and merchandise from past events may be made available for sale at the Stadium Reception located in the foyer of the Riverbank Stand, however this would be for a limited time only and cannot be guaranteed.  Queries related to programs and merchandise sales should be sent to

What is the Adelaide Oval’s policy on returns or replacement of faulty Adelaide Oval Merchandise items?

Please select items carefully as we do not refund due to change of mind. Adelaide Oval is more than happy to provide an exchange of products within 30 days of purchase with proof of receipt, providing any clothing is unworn, any tags or packaging are intact and the product is in a re-sellable condition.

Products that are faulty will be replaced or a full refund can be provided.

When is the Adelaide Oval merchandise store open?

Adelaide Oval merchandise is available to purchase from the Stadium Reception located in the foyer of the Riverbank Stand from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Team based merchandise will be available for sale on event days from the merchandise booths situated around the stadium.

Is there an online store?

Adelaide Oval merchandise is available exclusively from the Stadium Reception located in the foyer of the Southern Stand. For merchandise enquiries please phone Stadium Reception at Adelaide Oval on (08) 8211 1100.

Are there any betting facilities at the ground?

There are no permanent sports betting outlets located at Adelaide Oval.


What Memberships are available?


Membership of the South Australian Cricket Association allows you to enter the ground and members enclosure of the western and Riverbank stands for all Cricket Australia International and Domestic cricket matches, including the Commonwealth Bank Test matches, KFC T20 International matches and KFC Twenty20 Big Bash League.

In addition to cricket rights, other privileges of being a SACA Member include:

  • Access to members' only facilities and seats in the Riverbank Stand and Western stand, including the popular Village Green;
  • The opportunity to book for exclusive members' dining events;
  • The option to purchase a Transferable Associate Card (TAC) for others to use
  • The opportunity to purchase daily guest passes and invite guests to the SACA Members' Enclosure on selected match days

Will I get wet if it rains?

The stadium delivers shade through summer and protection from the elements in winter, with 77 per cent of seats undercover. 

Is Adelaide Oval accessible to all?

The Adelaide Oval SMA is committed to ensuring all patrons have an enjoyable and comfortable experience when visiting the stadium. Up to what age can I bring my child in free?

Conditions of entry for children vary from event to event. Please see event specific details for more information.

Are there baby changing facilities within the stadium?

Parenting rooms are located inside the stadium on Level 1 and Level 5 of the Riverbank Stand.  Each parenting room contains a microwave, table, chairs, change-tables, feeding rooms, toilets and nappy disposal bins. Family toilets with baby change facilities are also located throughout the stadium.

Am I allowed to smoke at Adelaide Oval?

Adelaide Oval is a smoke-free venue.  There are designated smoking areas located outside the stadium.  Smokers will need to exit the ground to use these areas.

Does Adelaide Oval sell phone chargers?

You can purchase a SOS Charge on-the-go phone charger for $14.95 from Stadium Concierge on Level 1, Riverbank Stand (iOS and Android versions available).
