As you may already be aware, the State Government has just ANNOUNCED a further easing of crowd restrictions
We are delighted to hear the Premier’s announcement that Adelaide Oval can host 5000 spectators at this weekend’s SANFL Statewide Super League opening round.
Following the success of Showdown 48, SA Health and SAPOL approved SANFL’s request for 5000 people to attend each day of its Round 1 double headers, Saturday June 27 and Sunday June 28.
The State Government has also confirmed a further easing of restrictions from Monday, June 29 under Step 3, as follows:
- The 1 person per 4sqm restriction will be revised to 1 person per 2sqm.
- An ability for Adelaide Oval to go up to 50 per cent capacity, though this will require the development of a COVID management plan that satisfies SA Health.
- 50 per cent capacity and the 1 person per 2sqm are one and the same – both conditions need to be met at venues.
We look forward to working with SA Health and SAPOL to develop and implement a COVID Safe environment for a 50% capacity of 25,000 patrons.
The 1 person per 2sqm increase in capacity also has a really positive impact on our Functions & Events and tourism businesses.
