Two South Australian icons are coming together in a unique collaboration that will see Hill of Grace Restaurant open its doors at Adelaide Oval this August.
The new fine dining restaurant to be launched in the Eastern Stand will not only take on the name Hill of Grace, but will become home to the world’s only complete set of Hill of Grace wines on display – a priceless collection from 1958 to the current release.
“We are enormously excited about this partnership with Henschke and what the Hill of Grace Restaurant will offer food and wine lovers from all over Australia and indeed the world,” said Adelaide Oval SMA Chairman John Olsen AO.
“The Hill of Grace Restaurant will offer a truly South Australian fine dining experience, with the best and freshest local seasonal produce complemented by a range of acclaimed Henschke wines as well as a host of other outstanding, locally produced wines.
“The library of Hill of Grace wines is particularly exciting – Adelaide Oval has the privilege of hosting the only display of a complete set of this truly great wine, one of the greatest single vineyard wines in the world.”
The Hill of Grace Restaurant will be open to the public for dinner five nights a week as well as for lunch on Fridays. On major event days at Adelaide Oval, it will offer Audi Stadium Club members an outstanding dining experience.
“We have many happy family memories of summers watching cricket at the Adelaide Oval and it seemed a perfect fit to associate our historic and beautiful wine with the heritage and beauty of these grounds. The sweeping parkland and cathedral views are unique to this inner-city stadium and we are elated to be involved in the creation of the Hill of Grace Restaurant which will display a museum collection of our prized shiraz,” said winemaker Stephen Henschke.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to help grow Adelaide’s reputation as a fine wine and food destination.”
The Restaurant in the Audi Stadium Club will officially become the Hill of Grace Restaurant this August and will remain open to Club members throughout this time. When it officially opens, a new menu created by Adelaide Oval’s Executive Sous Chef Dennis Leslie will be unveiled – based on a paddock to plate philosophy that ensures the menu comprises of fresh produce that is farmed, fished or produced in South Australia.
A range of Henschke wines will headline an extensive wine list available at the Hill of Grace Restaurant, including more than 160 wines – all of which are South Australian.
