Bodelle Francis has been appointed to the role of General Manager for the Adelaide Oval Hotel.
With more than 15 years spent working in the event, hospitality and sporting industries, Ms Francis will bring important experience and skills to the role, which she will commence next month.
“I am both incredibly pleased and proud to have been announced as the successful candidate for this position,” Bodelle said.
“Adelaide Oval is an iconic venue, known and loved all over the world, and to be part of the team building and enhancing that reputation is certainly something I will take very seriously.
“The Adelaide Oval Hotel will be a fantastic addition to the stadium’s offering, and indeed the city itself, and it will provide another outstanding accommodation option for people visiting Adelaide.”
Adelaide Oval SMA CEO Andrew Daniels said Bodelle was the perfect candidate to manage the 138-room boutique hotel.
“Through her diverse experience in the hotel industry, Bodelle will bring the right set of skills and business acumen to this role,” he said.
“Opportunities like this – where you have the chance to establish everything from the brand to the business operation from day one – don’t come around very often. We’re enormously pleased to have secured a passionate South Australian with the skills and experience to take on this exciting challenge.”
The hotel will be built on two elevated pods that follow the external curves of the eastern façade of the stadium and will therefore not encroach on the parklands or the plaza. None of the stadium’s existing access/egress, including the plaza and atrium entry, are affected by the development and neither is the seating bowl.
The Adelaide Oval Hotel will be completed in mid-2020 before opening in September 2020 in time for the ICC T20 World Cup
Construction will involve approximately 450 workers on and off-site – with the hotel creating 120 ongoing FTE roles on completion.
