Adelaide Oval is proud to have been named a finalist for Event of the Year in TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2024
On the back of the huge success that was the 2024 AFL Gather Round, Adelaide Oval’s delivery of the inaugural round in 2023 has been shortlisted for a global award.
TheStadiumBusiness Awards are the world’s leading industry awards for the stadium sector, by the stadium sector. Adelaide Oval has been named as a finalist in the Event of the Year category.
“We are immensely proud of our team for bringing last year’s Gather Round to life on such a tight timeframe,” Adelaide Oval CEO Nick Addison said.
“Its success was reflected in SA locking in the event until 2026, and the way it has continued to grow in its second year.
“While we are thrilled to play a key role in this incredible event, none of it would be possible without the vision and ongoing support of the AFL, the Premier and the State Government and the SANFL.”
The winners of TheStadiumBusiness Awards will be announced at this year’s TheStadiumBusiness Summit, to be held at Old Trafford in Manchester in June.
“Now in its second decade, TheStadiumBusiness Awards continue to recognise leadership, innovation and achievement in the design, delivery and operation of sports and entertainment facilities globally,” TheStadiumBusiness founder Ian Nuttall said.
“For 2024 we have an amazing shortlist of finalists across the categories. Our expert Judging Panel will have its work cut out determining a single winner in each category ahead of our Winners’ Party in Manchester on the 18th June.

Adelaide Oval is in good company in the Event of the Year category, with other finalists including 2023 United Rugby Championship Grand Final in South Africa and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia/New Zealand.
