More choice, more SA brands: Adelaide Oval levels up food and beverage for 2024 AFL season
Footy fans are set to enjoy even more choice at Adelaide Oval kiosks and bars this season, as the stadium levels up its gameday menu for the second year in a row.
Last year’s shakeup of the menu saw the introduction of 18 new fresh food items and 10 new beverage choices, as well as a Soonta Vietnamese outlet. This year, fans can expect a further 22 new items, including a new range of fresh sandwiches, salads and subs, gourmet nachos options and southern fried chicken, plus roaming sushi carts from locally based Sushi Hiro.
Fridges will be stocked with more local brands, with Fleurieu Milk flavoured milks and Nippy’s juices adding to the venue’s expansive suite of South Australian suppliers. And for those looking for a fancier footy experience, a dedicated cocktail and pre-mixed bar in the Eastern stand will serve cocktails on tap as well as an extensive range of ‘ready to drink’ cans.
“We want Adelaide Oval to challenge and elevate the traditional stadium experience, which means continuing to innovate and improve our game day offering,” Adelaide Oval CEO Nick Addison said.
“Our chefs and our food and beverage team did an incredible job last year of reinventing our kiosk and bar menu and continue to do so.
“Fans want choice and they want quality, which means preserving things they love – like a pie and a pint on the northern mound – while also delivering restaurant quality experiences in our corporate areas and a wide selection of gourmet, fresh and healthy items across our food outlets. Whatever they choose, we’re determined to deliver the best version of that.
“We’re also very passionate about our support of local suppliers, and we’re delighted to be welcoming Fleurieu Milk and Nippy’s to our stable of South Australian brands.”
Fleurieu Milk Corporate Relations Manager and South Australian AFL legend Tony Modra said the brand was excited to be heading to South Australia’s home of sport and major events.
“It’s great to see a South Australian icon like Adelaide Oval supporting South Australian brands,” Tony said.
“This is our most significant commercial contract to date. It means a lot to us, and to me personally, that local footy fans will be enjoying Fleurieu Milk flavoured milks next time they’re at a game.”
