Stage I of the $535 million redevelopment – the northern mound will be in full use for the Test match.

With a total capacity for the mound of just over 6,000, the new-look mound features 2,100 square metres of grass complemented by almost 3,000 seats in a purpose built seating bowl.

It is further enhanced by a new 800 square metre timber deck shaded by the legendary Moreton Bay Figs linking the back of the mound to improved food, beverage and toilet facilities – all of which are accessible to disabled patrons. Completion of the northern mound brings the Oval’s current capacity to more than 20,000. The historic Clarrie Grimmett gates have also been upgraded.
