Since it opened its doors 12 months ago, more than 11,000 people have dined at Hill of Grace Restaurant, showcasing the very best of South Australian food and wine.

According to Adelaide Oval SMA CEO Andrew Daniels, the success of the restaurant is largely a result of the outstanding food and wine experience on offer, combined with its unique location.

“The intent was always to create a dining experience that represents the best seasonal produce and premium wine the state has to offer,” he said. “The feedback from patrons to date would certainly suggest we’re achieving that goal.

“We’re thrilled that South Australians are enjoying what’s on offer but we’ve also been very pleased to see that approximately 20% of our guests have come from interstate.

Believed to be the world’s only fine dining restaurant located within a stadium, the Hill of Grace Restaurant is also unique because it houses the only complete set of Henschke Hill of Grace wines in existence – a priceless collection from 1958 to the current vintage.”

To celebrate the Hill of Grace Restaurant being open for one year, Prue and Stephen Henschke will plant a shiraz cutting at the Adelaide Oval.

The vine will be cared for by Adelaide Oval head curator Damian Hough and, according to Prue Henschke, is the perfect gift as it symbolises the strong partnership between two South Australian icons.

“It seemed only right that a piece of our vineyard will live on in the grounds of Adelaide Oval. The old vine structure encasing the young vine is a remnant of an old 150 year old Hill of Grace Grandfather vine,” Prue said.

“To have the Hill of Grace Restaurant take on our namesake has been an honour; Dennis’ food is exquisite, as is the location. I couldn’t think of a better place to showcase our Hill of Grace collection and, now, a piece of our historic shiraz vine.”

The Hill of Grace Restaurant’s produce-driven, seasonal food philosophy is complemented by a range of more than 160 South Australian wines, headlined by Henschke’s acclaimed range from Eden Valley and the Adelaide Hills.

Located within the Audi Stadium Club on level three of the Eastern Stand, the Hill of Grace Restaurant is open to the public for dinner five nights a week (Tuesday – Saturday) as well as lunch on Fridays.

To celebrate the one year anniversary, diners will be able to enjoy a Friday lunch special throughout September and October, with two courses for $59. Booking enquiries can be made on (08) 8205 4777 or online at adelaideoval.com.au.
