SANFL finals fever is about to sweep through Adelaide and with a number of quality sides in premiership contention, a performance by an iconic Australian rock band, excellent value tickets and much more, it’s not hard to see why.

The SANFL finals series will kick off on Saturday, 3 September and will run for four weeks with the 2016 SANFL IGA League Grand Final to be held on Sunday, 25 September at Adelaide Oval.

“The finals series is shaping up to be our best yet with the Grand Final guaranteed to be a great day out for all,” SANFL CEO Jake Parkinson said.

“We have excellent value tickets for footy fans along with quality entertainment and, of course, outstanding football from a number of quality sides who are all contenders to take out the Grand Final,” Mr Parkinson said.

“An added bonus for fans on Grand Final day on 25 September will be free public transport for all ticket holders on the footy express.”

Iconic Australian rock band Mental as Anything will headline the pre-match entertainment at the SANFL Grand Final. Specially presented by Coca Cola the performance will commence at 2.00pm, before the game starts at 2.40pm.

ARIA Hall of Fame inductees Mental as Anything, who are considered art pop pioneers, will deliver Grand Final footy fans chart topping hits including ‘Live It Up’ and their latest, ‘Shake Off Your Sandals.’

“I’m really looking forward to playing at my first SANFL Grand Final. We’ll bring our biggest hits, if not our footy skills, to the game,” said Mental as Anything lead singer Andy ‘Greedy’ Smith.

The Grand Final will include plenty of activities for the kids including an IGA Activation Zone, free face painting and giveaways.

What’s more, this year the SANFL will be offering a special deal on tickets. Adult tickets will be available from just $15 for the first three weeks of finals and just $25 for the Grand Final when pre-purchased. For the very first time children under 18 can attend all four weeks of the SANFL IGA League Finals Series for free.

Fans are encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets for the entire four weeks’ series, which go on sale Monday, 29 August, from Ticketek* and metro IGA supermarkets. Tickets purchased at the gate on Grand Final day will be $27 for adults.

Free travel from the Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure will be offered from approximately 2 hours before the game, with timetables to be released on www.adelaidemetro.com.au/ closer to the date.
