SMA response to The Advertiser article ‘Councillor Anne Moran wants smoking banned in the parklands surrounding Adelaide Oval’:
We are incredulous that Ms Moran would target our Adelaide Oval patrons, who come from all over our state, country and indeed the globe, in this way.
Adelaide Oval is a non-smoking venue where everyone is welcome.
If the surrounding parklands were made smoke-free, it would only force patrons who want to smoke to walk through the parklands and do so on Pennington Terrace adjacent to St Peter’s Cathedral and residences.
This would clearly be totally inappropriate.
Adelaide Oval SMA will not be making any further comment on this matter.
