For the first time ever, three South Australian icons have come together to produce a limited edition version of the all-time footy-favourite snack – the meat pie, exclusively for footy fans at this year’s Gather Round.
Hot out of the oven, these new ‘Balfours X Pepperjack Pies’ have been made in South Australia by Balfours using Pepperjack’s #1 Australian Red, its Barossa Shiraz, which is available to be enjoyed exclusively at Adelaide Oval across the venue’s five ‘Gather Round’ games this weekend.
At the kiosk, fans can expect to try a mouthwatering blend of Pepperjack Barossa Shiraz, premium beef and rich mushroom encased in flaky Balfours pastry. The pie will be available at all Adelaide Oval outlets where Balfours pastries are available and retail for $5.70 in line with the rest of the range.
In corporate areas, a cocktail version of the pie will feature Pepperjack Barossa Shiraz, premium beef, capers and olives.
Wine-lovers will also see Pepperjack taking over bars across the stadium during Gather Round, with Pepperjack Barossa Shiraz, Rose, Sauvignon Blanc and Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir available to purchase at all wine bars. The rest of the iconic Balfours range, will also be available at the venue, including their famed chocolate iced donuts.
The ‘Balfours X Pepperjack’ pies have been crafted as a true collaboration between Adelaide Oval chefs, Balfours bakers and Pepperjack’s Winemaker, Richard Mattner. The pies will be available exclusively at Adelaide Oval for AFL from Thursday 4 April – Sunday 7 April 2024.
