The Chairman, Board and Management of the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (SMA) extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of John Bannon, who passed away today.
Among his myriad achievements following his retirement from politics, John was part of the inaugural Board of the Adelaide Oval SMA in 2009 and a long-standing Board member of the South Australian Cricket Association.
His experience and wise counsel was critical to the success of the joint venture between football and cricket, particularly in its formative years.
He retired from the SMA Board in 2013 but remained an alternate Board member.
He will be sadly missed and our thoughts are with his wife Angela and family.
