The Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority has received notification from the Federal Department of Environment and Energy that the proposed action to modify and expand the eastern grandstand of the Adelaide Oval to accommodate the new hotel is not a controlled action under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

This means that the proposed action does not require further assessment and approval under the EPBC Act before it can proceed.

As the project’s promoter, the Adelaide Oval SMA referred the project to Environment Minister Melissa Price for consideration earlier this year.

We are naturally pleased with the decision and are continuing with the tender process to secure a builder for the project.
