The Board of the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority has appointed SRI Executive to drive a domestic and global search for its next Chief Executive Officer.

This follows last month’s announcement that Andrew Daniels will step down in May 2022 after a decade in the role.

Adelaide Oval is South Australia’s premier sporting and major event venue, attracting more than a million patrons a year (pre-COVID). In September 2020, it became the first stadium in Australia to open an integrated hotel with the award-winning Oval Hotel.

“The successful candidate will join us at an important time to lead the organisation and its partners as we bounce back from the challenges faced by live sport, events and entertainment,” said Adelaide Oval SMA Chair Kevin Scarce AC.

“The Board is seeking a commercial and relationship-focused business leader to build on the success that has been created over the past 10 years.”

SRI Executive was appointed after a tender process and will commence its work immediately.

“Adelaide Oval is one of the most internationally admired, awarded and vibrant stadiums and sits at the very heart of the city,” said SRI ANZ Managing Partner Jonathan Harris.

“We fully understand and appreciate the pride that South Australians have in the Oval and, in turn, the importance of this role and our process will reflect this.”
